Code of Conduct for Contractors
Purpose
This Code of Conduct sets out the professional standards, behaviours, and expectations required of all contractors contracted by Iliani Education Group when working with students. Compliance with this Code is a condition of engagement.
Definitions
“Contractor” means any individual engaged by Iliani Education Group on an independent contractor basis to provide tutoring, mentoring, coaching, advisory, or related educational services, including but not limited to tutors, mentors, university admissions consultants, research specialists, academic advisors, or programme facilitators, whether engaged on an ad-hoc, part-time, fixed-term, or assignment-based basis.
1. Professional Conduct & Behaviour
Contractors must conduct themselves at all times in a professional, respectful, calm, and courteous manner.
Contractors must treat students and families with discretion, maturity, and cultural sensitivity, recognising the high-trust nature of the relationship.
Contractors must follow all reasonable instructions and policies issued by Iliani.
2. Punctuality & Reliability
Contractors must be on time for all scheduled sessions.
Sessions may not be cancelled or rescheduled without 24 hours advance approval from Iliani, except in genuine emergencies.
More than three instances of repeated lateness, cancellations, or rescheduling requests will result in termination of the contract.
3. Dress, Appearance & Environment
Contractors must present themselves in smart and appropriate attire suitable for working with families of a premium profile.
No casual, inappropriate, or distracting clothing is allowed.
Contractors must ensure a quiet, neutral, and professional background during sessions.
Cameras must be switched on, unless otherwise authorised by Iliani.
4. Boundaries & Safeguarding
Contractors must maintain strict professional boundaries with students at all times.
No personal, romantic, sexual, political, or religious discussions are permitted.
Contractors may not communicate with students outside approved platforms or without Iliani’s knowledge.
Contractors may not engage in private messaging, social media contact, or one-to-one communication with students outside scheduled sessions except where such communication (a) is for the purposes of the services being rendered (e.g. scheduling, academic follow-up, or session preparation) and (b) takes place on Iliani-approved platforms and communication channels.
Any safeguarding concern must be reported immediately to Iliani.
5. Communication Standards
Contractors must use clear, polite, age-appropriate, and professional language at all times.
Criticism must be constructive and academic in nature.
Contractors must not discuss fees, contracts, internal processes, or other clients with students or families.
All communication between contractors and families/students shall make use of pre-approved platforms and channels.
6. Confidentiality & Privacy
All student information, family details, academic materials, and conversations are strictly confidential.
Contractors may not record sessions, take screenshots, or retain student work unless expressly authorised.
Confidential information may not be shared with any third party under any circumstances.
7. Performance & Preparation
Contractors must be fully prepared for each session and deliver sessions to the expected standard.
Poor preparation, disengagement, or unprofessional delivery is unacceptable.
8. No Direct Contracting or Fee Discussions
Contractors may not, under any circumstances, enter into direct contractual, commercial, or informal arrangements with any Iliani student or family during the contract period.
Contractors are strictly prohibited from discussing fees, pricing, discounts, payment arrangements, or alternative service offerings with students or parents.
9. Compliance & Breach
Failure to comply with this Code may result in:
Suspension of sessions
Termination of the contract
Non-payment for affected sessions
Legal actions, including claims for damages and/or injunctive relief where appropriate.
Serious breaches may be reported to relevant authorities where required.
